Whether you're looking for a fully automatic Total Bag Control system, a stand alone Topform Bag Feeder, a Stitcher Feeder, or a simple manual Stitcher or Heat Sealer conveyor line, Spiroflow Systems can accommodate your bag closing and sealing needs.

Total Bag Control
Operation
An open mouth bag is placed on a spout clamp, either manually, or by a Pacepacker bagplacer. As the bag filling process commences, a pair of fingers then either stretch or reform the gussets of the bag.
A set of motorised Grip Arms then move around the bag and as it is released from the clamp, they close on the bag, holding it in its formed state.
A set of motorized Grip Arms then move around the bag and as it is released from the clamp, they close on the bag, holding it in its formed state. These arms then drive toward the sealer, releasing the bag into a twin belt feeder for subsequent sealing. Even very unstable products can be accommodated with ease as the bag top is held at all times prior to sealing, hence the name TBC – Total Bag Control.
Control System
The stand-alone TBC control system utilises the latest PLC technology. All motor drives are Inverter controlled for perfect speed synchronization.
Packing Speeds
Packing speeds depend on many factors such as weigher speed, product filling time, conveyor speed etc. Typical speed for the TBC when gusset reforming is 720 bags per hour or 12 bags per minute. However, when stretching the bag mouth, speeds of up to 900 bags per hour or 15 bags per minute are possible.
Weigher Requirements
Works with almost any fully automatic net or gross weigher or volumetric filler.
Bag Specification
Most commercial quality paper, plastic, WPP and laminated bags are acceptable, providing they are in good condition. Hessian bags can be used if they can be placed on the clamp.
» Bag widths from 11” to 24”
» Bag lengths from 20” to 40”
» Filled weights from 5 lbs to 100 lbs

Topform Bag Feeder
Operation
The approaching filled bag activates the Topform automatic cycle. Two blades enter the open bag mouth, the leading blade accurately positions the top of the bag and the trailing blade stretches the bag to the required width. The bag is then fed forward into the sealer or stitcher at the same speed as the conveyor. This action gives precise presentation with minimal setting up time.
Control System
Systems are supplied with a control panel containing a PLC which links to an in feed sensor to control start/stop times. SMC and Origa Pneumatics for reliability and long life.
Packing Speeds
The easy speed of the Topform is achieved by the blades moving with the bag then returning at high speed to pick up the next one, up to 15 bags per minute are possible.
Conveyor Requirements
Works with almost any conveyor with sufficient spare length.
Bag Specification
The Topform works well with most open mouth bags providing that the filled bag & its mouth remain upright & open during conveying from the filling point. Guide boards can be used to assist this. Normal size range is 12” to 24” wide (including gusset). Sizes outside this range can usually be accommodated by small changes to specification Length of bag is unimportant as long as sufficient Ullage is available to allow blades to operate and for the bag top to form the correct shape.
Stitcher Feeder
Operation
Designed to be attached to most heavy duty stitchers & automate bag in feed. The approaching filled bag activates the Stitcher Feeder automatic cycle. A Single blade then enters the leading edge of the open bag mouth, presenting it to a powered belt which in turn transfers it to the stitcher.
Control System
Systems are supplied with a control panel containing a PLC which links to an in feed sensor to control start/stop times.
Packing Speeds
The speed of the belt feeder on the Stitcher Feeder can be matched to an existing Stitching conveyor. A maximum throughput of 15 sacks per minute is typical. Approximately 300mm is required between each sack.
Stitchers and Heat Sealers
Spiroflow Systems offer a wide range of bag stitching & heat sealing systems for use in conjunction with automated in feed devices or, as simple free standing manually fed units, to suit most applications.
The exact device required will depend on the bag type and how you wish the finished bag to look.
Typical options include:
» Heavy duty, twin thread stitchers from Fischbein, Newlong & others.
» Medium duty, single thread stitcher from Fischbein, Newlong & others.
» Plastic bag heat sealers from Fischbein, OK International & others.
» Paper pinch top glue closure sealer from Pacepacker.
