Automatic Bag Placing

Spiroflow Systems offers three different bag placing models, the C Series, T Series, and GX Series.

C Series

Operation

Solid construction with small bore vacuum system gives smooth, fast and reliable operation on a wide variety of bag materials. An empty bag is lifted from the pile by a suction arm, ready for opening. A second suction arm then moves up and the bag is opened, allowing the swing arm blades to enter and grip the bag. The swing arms then rotate up to the bag clamp.

Control System

The C-Series control system utilises the latest PLC technology. The controls are very simple, comprising of a pause/run switch, clamp release switch, clamp timer dial, step function switch, E-stop button and posser on/off switch. Additional controls can be added if required.

Packing Speeds

Packing speeds depend on many factors such as weigher speed, product filling time, conveyor speed etc. Typical speed for the C-Series is 600 bags per hour or 10 bags per minute. However speeds of 720 bags per hour or 12 bags per minute are possible.

Weigher Requirements

Works with almost any fully automatic net or gross weigher or volumetric filler.

Bag Specification

Most commercial quality paper, plastic and laminated woven polypropylene bags are acceptable, providing they are in good condition and stack neatly. Multiwall paper bags must be pasted between layers. Plastic bags must be between 100 and 200 Micron. (400-800 Gauge), must be dry and free from static. Unsuitable bags such as open weave woven polypropylene; burlap and mesh can be placed manually via a supplied foot pedal.
» Bag widths from 8” to 20”
» Bag lengths from 14” to 34”
» Filled weights from 5 lbs to 50 lbs

T Series

Operation

Robust construction with large bore vacuum system gives smooth, fast and reliable operation on a wide variety of bag materials. An empty bag is lifted from the pile and indexed forward to a precise point, ready for opening. This opening point is controlled by an adjustable sensor for accurate positioning. Two sets of suction cups then open the bag allowing the swing arm blades to enter and grip the bag. The swing arms then rotate up to the bag clamp.

Control System

The T-Series control system utilises the latest PLC technology. It incorporates a very user friendly operator interface (HMI Screen) which has a clear display and powerful features. These include a recipe system providing up to seven different programmes which can be pre-set for various bag types and sizes. Other features include a Modem option for remote diagnostics and editing, visual fault display and self diagnostic functions.

Packing Speeds

Packing speeds depend on many factors such as weigher speed, product filling time, conveyor speed etc. Typical speeds for the T-Series is 720 bags per hour or 12 bags per minute. However speeds up to 900 bags per hour or 15 bags per minute are possible.

Weigher Requirements

Works with almost any fully automatic net or gross weigher or volumetric filler.

Bag Specification

Most commercial quality paper, plastic, WPP and laminated bags are acceptable, providing they are in good condition and stack neatly. Multiwall paper bags must be pasted between layers. Plastic bags must be between 100 and 200 Micron. (400-800 Gauge), must be dry and free from static. WPP bags must have a tight weave to allow the vacuum system to work. They must be flat and not cut with a hot knife. Unsuitable bags such as Hessian and Nets can be placed manually via a supplied foot pedal.
» Bag widths from 16” to 24”
» Bag lengths from 20” to 40”
» Filled weights from 20 lbs to 100 lbs

G Series

Operation

The GX1000 bag Placer has a robust construction and is manufactured in stainless steel and aluminum as standard. It has a small bore vacuum system that gives smooth, fast and reliable operation on a wide variety of plastic, paper and laminated woven polypropylene bag materials.

An empty bag is lifted from the pile at the rear of the bag placer and a slatted conveyor indexes and separates the bag, taking it forward to a precise point, ready for opening.

This opening point is controlled by an adjustable stop for accurate positioning. Two sets of suction cups then open the bag allowing the swing arm blades to enter and grip the bag. The bag placer swing arms then rotate the bag up to the bag clamp. The unit automatically rejects troublesome bags allowing uninterrupted operation

Control System

The GX-Series bag placer control system utilises the latest PLC technology and incorporates a very user friendly operator interface (HMI Screen) which has a clear display and powerful features. Other features include the ASI communication system, Modem option for remote diagnostics and editing, visual fault display. Operation is through a combination of electrical and pneumatic actuators.

Packing Speeds

Packing speeds depend on many factors such as weigher speed, product filling time, conveyor speed etc. The GX-Series is capable of cycling at up to 1000 bags per hour.

Weigher Requirements

The Pacepacker range of bag placers work with almost any fully automatic net or gross weigher or volumetric filler.
